About this course

Welcome to the NMC Key Concepts: Basics (Fall 2025) training series. The Neurosequential Model© is a neurodevelopmentally-informed, biologically-respectful perspective on human development and functioning. The Neurosequential Model in Caregiving (NMC) applies core NM concepts for parents, caregivers, and non-clinical team members working in mental health, early childhood, juvenile justice, education and a host of other settings serving children, youth and families impacted by developmental adversity. The NMN is now pleased to offer a four-part Introduction to the NMC web-based training series. The training experience will include a combination of virtual teaching, pauses for small group discussion and reflection, and supportive multimedia and print content will be provided. This interactive series is led by Michelle Maikoetter and joined by expert discussants from the Neurosequential Network including Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D. and others. It includes 6 recorded sessions. IMPORTANT - The slides that Ms. Maikoetter, Dr. Perry, and other discussants reference in this training are not available to participants of this training experience.
